Pyromex®

Pyromex® is an oxidised PAN fiber. Due to its unique chemical structure, Pyromex® has non-flammable and non-melting characteristics. The Limiting Oxygen Index (LOI) of Pyromex® is evaluated as 50~60, much higher than that of other organic flame-resistant fibers. It also features excellent resistance to heat, chemicals and very good electrical insulation properties.

Pyromex® is widely used in anti-spattering sheets for welding, fleeces or needle felts for heat protection in the automotive and aerospace industry, in heat protective clothing, protective lining for furnaces, fire-proof ceilings, for heat insulation and nozzle sealing. This fiber is also applied in carbon/carbon (C/C) brakes  and many other fields involving flames or heat.
