Tenax® filament yarn
Since 1983, today’s Toho Tenax Group has been producing and selling Tenax® carbon fibers. Closely cooperating with customers and end users we steadily develop new carbon fiber types to ensure that our products are always adjusted to the respective market demands.
Tenax® filament yarn is characterized by both a high tensile strength and a high tensile modulus. Our product range includes qualities of 67tex up to 1600tex or 1,000 up to 24,000 filaments respectively.
HTA/HTS
are the classic Tenax® high-performance carbon fiber yarn types. These high-tenacity (HT) fibers provide excellently balanced mechanical laminate properties.
STS
is a special type suitable for modern industrial applications and can be processed in all common fiber processing methods.
UTS
is a „Ultra High Tenacity” (UT) fiber for specialty requirements on high tensile strength and increased elongation at break.
IMS
„Intermediate Modulus” fibers are tailored to suit applications where tensile strength and stiffness are of ultimate priority.
UMS
„Ultra High Modulus“ is a high-end carbon fiber for specialty applications where superior stiffness is necessary to fulfil the set requirements.
Nickel coated filament yarn
The nickel coated fibers are HTS-based. Metal coating significantly improves the electrical conductivity.
